A Sub Inspector attached to Chilaw Police Station was killed and a Police Constable attached to the same Police Station was critically injured as the Motor Cycle they were travelling in veered off the road and crashed in to the lamp post at Aluthgama(In Kaluthara District) Area last night.The crashed Motor Cycle was ridden by the deceased Sub Inspector who was a 26 year old resident of Kandy.The deceased sub inspector and critically injured constable were on their way with two other Policemen in another Motor Cycle for a raid.
The critically injured Constable is currently receiving Treatment at Chilaw Hospital.
The Traffic Unit of the Chilaw Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
