The imprisoned Political Bureau Member of Front line Socialist Party Kumar Gunaratnam has been sentenced to one year imprisonment today(31) by the Kegalle Magistrate Court.
Gunaratnam who is currently in remand over allegedly violating visa regulations was also imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 it has been reported.
Kumar Gunaratnam had arrived in Sri Lanka on a 30 day tourist visa just days before the last year's presidential election and charged for over staying in Sri Lanka after the expiration of his visa.
