TULF General Secretary Requested President Sirisena To Release Two Tamil Political Prisoners In Anuradhapura Prison

The General Secretary Of  Tamil United Liberation Front(TULF) V.Ananda Sangaree has requested   President Maithripala Sirisena to  immediately release the two Political Prisoners in Anuradhapura(In North Central Province) Prison who had conducted a hunger strike recently.

The two Tamil Political prisoners who were in hunger strike recently have taken into Police Custody under the terrorism prevention act on 2009 and during last 7 years they were only produced before the court but authorities still not able to file a case against them the TULF General Secretary has revealed through a letter sent to the President.

Ananda Sangaree has requested President to either release the two political prisoners or send them for a short term rehabilitation programme.

Meanwhile the two tamil political prisoners who were in hunger strike at Anuradhapura Prison for 6 days have ended their hunger strike yesterday after prison authorities assured them steps will be taking to proceed with their legal cases.
