The United Nations Food Programme has decided to grant US Dollars 20 million to Sri Lanka for the period 2016-2017.This grant will be given mainly to uplifting nutrition of Rural Population and school children of Estate and Rural Sectors according to reports.
United Nations Food Programme has also decided to intervene into food safety issues in Sri Lanka during natural disasters.
