Sri Lankan Coastguard Officers have today(31) arrested 31 Sri Lankan Fishermen while fishing in Sri Lankan Sea near Baththalangunduwa Island by using banned fishing nets.Along with the local fishermen the Coastguard Officers have arrested 8 boats,a stock of fishing nets and around 1572 Kilo Grammes of Fish according to sources.
The 31 detained local fishermen were handed over to the Kalpitiya Police for further investigations and later they have been released on police bail the sources said.
