Although new body massage centers(SPA) opening island wide like mushrooms by using the name "Ayurveda" illegally ,the Ayurveda Commissioner P.S.K,Weerakoon has said still no complaints have been received by him against so called Ayurveda Massage Centers."If someone make a complaint on such massage centers using the name " Ayurveda" illegally the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Council can take a legal action against such centers as the local Ayurvedic Doctors are not been granted permission to anyone for using the name 'Ayurveda" for massage centers the Ayurveda Commissioner has stated.
The Police have recently raided so many brothel houses situated in Colombo and Outstation Areas running under the name ' Ayurveda Massage Centers " .
Meanwhile All Ceylon Ayurveda Medical Officers Association has said their Association have taken steps to educate people that the body massage is not related anyway to Ayurveda .
