Obesity among Sri Lankans has been increased from three folds during the last two decades according to a new medical survey the Sri Lanka Medical Association(SLMA) has said.
Due to the Higher Consumption of Fat,Suger,and Flour the Obesity among Sri Lankans is on the increase the Medical Association has revealed, According to the results of the said medical survey around 15% Children live in Urban Areas and 25% of the population live in Rural Areas of the country are suffering from Obesity which leads several non communicable diseases like Diabetes,High Blood Pressure,Cholesterol and Heart Diseases .
Some of the Misleading Food Advertisements telecast and broadcast through the local electronic media too made a huge impact of spreading Obesity among children and youth in the country SLMA has said.
