The Duty Free Vehicle Permits offered under different schemes to professionals and Parliamentarians have been suspended with effect from 21st of November according to Ministry Of Finance.Due to this the letter of credit for those who have obtained the Duty Free Vehicle Permits on or before 20th of November should be opened before 31st Of December the Ministry has said.
The Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has suggested to abolish the Duty Free Vehicle Permits offered to Professionals and Parliamentarians through the 2016-Budget as due to these permits Government is loosing revenue around Rs.40 Billion annually.
