Colombo Chief Magistrate Has Today Allowed CID To Detain Former Eastern Provincial Chief Minister Pillayan For Questioning

Colombo Chief Magistrate  has today(14) gave permission for  Criminal Investigation Department(CID) to detain former Chief Minister Of Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan until 04th of November for questioning regarding the murder of former TNA MP Joseph Pararajasingham.

Pillayan was arrested by the CID on 11th of October after he arrived at CID Headquarters in Colombo to give a statement regarding the murder of MP Pararajasingham who was shot dead in Christmas Eve of 2005.

MP Joseph Pararajasingham was shot dead by an unidentified gunmen on December 2005 and at the time Pillayan was part of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pullikal(TMVP) Party .
