The Paddy Marketing Board has been so far purchased 102,797 Metric Tonnes of Paddy from the farmers during this Yala Harvest Season according to the government sources.Out of this purchased stock of Paddy 97,458 Metric Tonnes are Nadu Variety , 5069 Metric Tonnes are of Samba Variety and 270 Metric Tonnes are Keeri Samba Variety.
The government has allocated Rs.6000 Million for this year to purchasing paddy from farmers and so far Rs.4652 Million has been spent for that purpose according to sources.
