TNA Is Demanding The Opposition Leader Post As A Section Of Main Opposition UPFA Decided To Join The National Government

The Tamil National Alliance(TNA) is strongly demanding the Opposition Leader Post of the Newly Elected Parliament if a section of main opposition United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) joining a National Government with governing United National Party (UNP).

The main opposition UPFA has secured 95 seats in the new parliament and TNA has secured 16 seats .However a section of UPFA has decided to join the National Government  with governing UNP and a another section has decided to stay in the Opposition according to Political Sources.

Meanwhile all parties belonging to UPFA are due to meet with UPFA Chairman and President Maithripala Sirisene tomorrow(31) morning  to discuss on the situation arisen regarding the opposition leader post and on the newly formed National Government..

The new Cabinet of the government is scheduled to be sworn in before President Sirisene and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe on this Tuesday.
