The Minister of Provincial Councils and Regional Development Janaka Bandara Tennakoon of United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) has today (24) submitted his resignation letter from his post to the President Maithripala Sirisene .He is believed to be resigned from his Ministerial Post due to the recent statement made by President that the former President Mahinda Rajapakshe will be defeated in the forthcoming election.Soon after the President's Statement Minister Tennakoon has told the media that president's remarks will affect the election campaign of UPFA heavily.He also urged then the need to convene an urgent meeting of Sri Lanka Freedom Party's (The biggest party belonging to UPFA) Central Committee to discuss the situation .
