The Civil Aviation Authority officers have arrested a Chinese National this morning at Katunayake International Air Port who tried to smuggle a stock of rare origin t" Wallapatta " which also known as "Gyrinops Walla" worth Rs.472,000 out of the country .The Officers have found a stock of Wallapatta weighing 23 Kilos and 600 Grammes concealed inside his luggage when it was checked.
The 44 year old suspect had arrived Katunayake International Air Port early this morning to leave Thailand from Thai Air Ways Flight.
The Suspect was handed over to the Sri Lanka Customs to conduct further investigations on the incident,.
"Wallapatta" is a rare origin tree which use to make expensive perfumes.
