All Graded Medical Officers attached to National Hospital in Colombo are due to hold an emergency General Assembly this Thursday (12) to form a separate Trade Union by withdrawing from their main Trade Union Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) over their long term unsolved service problems including  salary anomalies.

According to a Senior Medical Officer attached to National Hospital the largest Government Hospital in Sri Lanka, the graded medical officers of the hospital are having no other option besides forming a separate trade union as some GMOA Officials are involve in getting more lucrative benefits only for  Medical Specialists by underestimating graded medical officers. The emergency general assembly is due to be held in Doctors Quarters of National Hospital on 12.30 p.m this Thursday according to him.
