Health Minister Maithrepala Sirisena has decided to appoint a Special Additional Secretary on Non Communicable Diseases(NCD'S) to minimize the spreading of these diseases in Sri Lankan Society Health Ministry Sources said today.According to the sources the reason behind the appointing of a special additional secretary is to organize and conduct public awareness campaigns on Non Communicable Diseases throughout the Island as the spreading of the diseases are in arise.Health Ministry has said that 50 percent out of the total number of deaths reported from Sri Lanka during the past 70 years are due to Non Communicable diseases like Diabetes,Heart Diseases and Obesity.
