The Cabinet members which met today under the patronage of the President Mahinda Rajapaksha approved the proposed Constitutional Amendments of the Government including of removing the 31(2) clause of the constitution which restricting president to contest more then two occasions.The Cabinet also approved to amend the Local Government Act to hold next Provincial Councils Elections with the Mixed Proportional Representation System and to amend the 17th amendment of the constitution.Monday, August 30, 2010
