The Ministry Of Health has been decided to Import Two Bacterias which killed Dengue Mosquito Larvae and Rats from Cuba before the end of Next Month Senior Official of the Ministry said yesterday.The Bacterias decided to Import from Cuba are "BTI" use to kill Dengue Mosquito Larvae and "Bio Rat".The 200 Million Budget Cost of Importing and using these Bacterias presented to the Cabinet by the Health Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva was approved recently.The BTI Bacteria which kills Dengue Mosquito Larvae Is decided to Air Spray in the Selected Areas.
According to the Health Ministry discussions to importing these Bacterias from Cuba are currently underway with the Cuban Embassy Officials in Colombo.Health Minister personally met the Cuban Ambassador last week and during the meeting he express Ministry's willingness to Import these Bacterias to the Country Immediatly.
The Deaths due to the "Dengue" and "Leptospirosis"(Rat Fever) are in increase in Sri Lanka.
