After defeating the LTTE Rebels ,Sri Lankan Police and Army together launched an Offensive to combating the Underworld Gangs.Under this Offensive, Forces identified some Six Powerful Underworld Gangs who are involved in Drug Trafficking,Kidnapping,Robberies and various other Crimes in Sri Lanka.President Mahinda Rajapaksha insisted his Cabinet Ministers last weak not to intervene into this Offensive to allow the Mission to continue their work Independently. New Chief Of Defense Staff and former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka too said that they expect to finishing this offensive in a short Period of Time.
