Fuel Shortage In Fuel Stations Caused Due To Not Placing Fuel Orders

Fuel shortage and Queues in front of Fuel srations had seen in last few days as,a result of not placing fuel orders by  121 fuel stations attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation( CEYPETCO)  during  27 -31st of May according to the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana wijesekare .


Although every fuel station need to keep 50 percent of the required amount of fuel in their stations those Fuel stations didnt do so during the mentioned period  Minister has stated.

Licences of those Fuel stations who had violated the conditions of their contracts will be cancelled in future Minister had further stated.

Price Of Litro Gas To Be Reduced From Midnight Tonight (04)

 The Price of Litro Gas Cylinders scheduled to be reduced with effect from midnight tonight (04 ) according to the Chairman of the Litro Gas Company Muditha Pieris.

Accordingly the Price of  12.5


KG Litro Gas Cylinder will be reduced by more then Rs.300 Litro Gas Chairman has stated.Similarly the Prices of 5 KG and 2.5 KG gas cylinders too will be reduced with effect fron tonight.The new Price revision of Litro Gas to be announced shortly .

Govt.Paid All Arrears Of Govt.Contractors Scheduled To Be Paid

 Government has concluded paying  all the arrears for Government contractors that have not been paid   during the  last three years according to  the Chief of Staff of the Presudnt Sagala Ratnayake.


Accordingly all the arrears scheduled to be paid for Government Contractors including those supplying meals for Sri Lanka Army and involved in Building construction work had been paid  he had revealed during an expert meeting held in Colombo .

Bill Gates Foundation To Provide US Dollars 250 Million To Develop Local Agri Sector

  Bill  and Melinda Gates Foundation  owned by the owner of the Microsoft Company had agreed to provide US Dollars 250 Million to improve Agriculture sector in Sri lanka with the help of a new Digital Technology App.


The main aim of this project is to Collect data in the Agricultue sector and improving the nutritional value of the Rice and other crops cultivated in the country it has been announced.The digital app going to  provide under this project will be utilized for Utilising fertilizer to crop harvest the officials of the Bill and Melinda  Gates Foundation  had stated.

An initial talks regarding this project was held between the officials of  Bill Gates Foundation and the officials of Presidential Secretariat recently .An agreement regarding this project had been  reached between the two parties during this  discussion .
