A total of 594 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (13) ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 594,319 according to Epidemiology Unit .Out of these positives 04 were foreign arrivals it has been reported.
At the moment 11.445 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .
Police have yesterday (11) arrested 04 persons who were believed to be responsible for fixing a hand grenade at All saints church in Borella (Colombo ).
Police have recovered the hand grenade fixed inside the church last evening .Later Special Police Task Force Personal had defused the grenade under a court order .
During the questioning one of the suspects arrested had revealed that a 56 year old employee attached to the church who is residing at Maradana area had fixed the hand grenade inside the church .Colombo Crimes Division is investigating on the incident .
Colombo High Court Tribunal had today (12) sentenced the former Prison Commissioner General Emil Ranjan Lamahewa to death over the killing of 08 Prison inmates during the unrest occurred at Welikada Prison on 09th of November 2012 .
However the Tribunal Judge panel had ordered to free the former Police Inspector attached to Police Anti Narcotic Bureau Neomal Rangajeewa who is the first accused of the prison killings from all the charges leveled against him .
Around 21 prison inmates attached to Welikada Prison were killed during the unrest occurred among prison inmates in 2012 when a group of Special Police Task Force (STF) Personal had arrived in prison premises for a search operation .
