Two Persons Were Remanded For Sending More Than 100 Sri Lankan Females To Maldives For Prostitution

Image result for remandedTwo suspects who were arrested last Tuesday(15) over sending more than 100 Sri Lankan females to Maldives for prostitution had been remanded until 21st of November by the Kaduwela Magistrate today(17).

The officers of the special investigations unit attached to Foreign Employment Bureau had arrested the two suspects and produced them before the Kaduwela Magistrate Court today.

The two suspects who were also running a lodge  in Battaramulla(In Colombo) had sent Sri Lankan Females to Maldives through tourist visas it has been revealed.

The officers of the Special Investigations Division attached to Foreign Employment Bureau had recovered the photos of the females the suspects have been sent  and those who are due to send to Maldives for  prostitution  as well as a stock of passports  at their lodge in Battaramulla .The Foreign Employment Bureau is now conducting an investigations to arrest a Bangladeshi National who involved in sending Sri Lankan females to Maldives.

A 12 Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Several Areas In Colombo This Saturday

Related imageThe National Water Supply and Drainage Board has today(17) announced a twelve hour water cut from 9 a.m to 9 p.m in several areas  in Colombo this Saturday(19).

Accordingly the water cut will be affected  to  Colombo ,Kotte,Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia,Kolonnawa Municipal Council area,Kaduwela Municipal Council area ,Boralesgamuwa,Maharagama,Kotikawatte-Mullariyawa Pradeshiya Sabha area and Rathmalana.

Urgent repairs of the power transmission  system that supplying electricity to Ambathale Water Treatment Plant is the cause for 12 hour water cut the Water Board has stated.

Entry Road To Galle Face From Lotus Roundabout In Colombo Closed Due To A Protest March

Image result for lotus roundaboutThe entry road to Galle face from Lotus Roundabout(Colombo) has been closed for traffic this noon due to a protest march launched by a group of persons affected from Salawa Armory explosion occurred in last June .

A heavy  traffic congestion had been reported from the area this noon due to the protest march launched by Salawa victims by demanding to pay compensations for their properties which destroyed or damaged due to the fire erupted as the result of armory explosion in Salawa.

Police have advised the motorists to use an alternative routes due to the traffic congestion.

A Supervisor Attached To Kaluthara Pradeshiya Sabha Was Arrested Over Sexually Assaulting Underaged Boys

A supervisor attached to Kaluthara Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested by the Kaluthara Crimes Division officers
at weniwelpitiya area yesterday (16)  over sexually assaulting several  underaged boys it has been reported.

The arrest was made as per the complaints received by Presidential Secretariet from the villagers with video footages of the sexual assaults  done by the suspect police have stated.

Meanwhile Police are conducting a seperate  investigation to arrest  the persons who have taken video footage of the assaults.

Proposed Central Expressway To Be Completed By The End Of 2019

The proposed Central Expressway which will be
constructed from four stages is due to be completed by the end of 2019 according to Minister of Higher Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella.

Accordingly under the first stage 37.3 Kilo Meters from Kadawatha to Mirigama will be constructed by a Chinese Firm and second stage 39.3 kilo meters from Mirigama to Kurunagala will be constructed first time by the local contractors.

The third stage 34.1 Kilo Meters from pothuhara to galagedera to be constructed by a Japanese company and the fourth and last stage of the Expressway which is 53.8 Kilo Meters will be constructed by a chinese company.

There will be 14 interchanges in the Expressway and the Road Development Authority has already allocated a land for the project  Minister Kiriella has stated.
