An Army Soldier At Bogaswewa Army Camp Was Assaulted

An unidentified person or a group had
assaulted an Army soldier who was on sentry duty at Bogaswewa Army Camp in Vavuniya and grabbed  the fire arm belonging to him  it has beem reported yesterday (25) .

The assaulted soldier has been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment .

The Miltary police and intelligence officials who are conducting an investigations over the incident had recovered the stolen  fire arm at Kekirawa,Anuradhapura yesterday(25).

A Lane Of The Colombo -Badulla Main Road Is Being Blocked Due To A Sinking Area

One lane of the Colombo -Badulla main
road is being blocked by using Road baricades as a result of a sinking of the section of the road at Mamalgaha area since yesterday (25).

The sinking area is being increased towards the slope due to the heavy showers prevailing in according to Police .

Motorists are being advised to be on alert as slippery condition is there of the road as a result of showers .

Landslide Risk At Ella-Wellawaya Main Road-Motorists Are Advised To Be On Alert

Authorities have warned the Motorists and commuters to be on alert as there's a risk of landslides and sinking ground near the 16 th post of the
 Ella-Wellawaya main road at present due to the heavy showers prevailimg in the area  .

From Kumbalwela to karandagolla in Ella area there are huge soil mounds,Rocks and water nearing to fall to the Ella -Wellawaya road and from Kumbalwela Junction to Wellawaya and Bandarawela there are landslide risks Authorities have stated

Although authorities have removed the soil mounds and rocks fallen to the road by using backo mechines there is a risk of falling them.again it has been revealed .Due to this situation police have advised the motorists to be on alert when travelling on the road .






Government To Reduce Import Tax On Imported Potatoes By Rs.25

Government has decided to reduce the
import tax on imported potatoes by Rs.25 per a Kilo Gramme from Rs.50 to Rs.25 with effective from midnight to night (25)according to the Ministry Of Finance .

The tax  reduction will be implemented in view of reducing the increased price of potatoes in the local market the Ministry .

The harvest of local potatoes is scheduled to be released to the market in february it has been reported.
