Jaffna High Court Judge M.Ilanveliyan had yesterday

(21)sentenced a person 18 year rigorous imprisonment over raping a 16 year old girl on 22nd of July 2012.

The accused who is a father of four children has made death threats to the victim it has been revealed.

A Schoo Principal In Samanthurai Area Arrested Over Sexually Assaulting Three School Girls

Samanthurai Police had  arrested a school principal of

a school in Samanthurai-Ampara area over sexually assaulting three 10 year old school girls of the school.

The suspected School Principal had been arrested as per a complaint received by the  National Child Protection Authority by stating that  the Principal had sexually assaulted the three school girls in few occassions at the school few months ago according to the Police.

A 16 Year Old School Boy Was Killed After Being Crushed By A Huge Rock

A 16 year old school boy was killed after being 

crushed by a huge rock while staying near a quarry in Padukke area.

The deceased student who was a grade 11 student of Mawathagama Primary school in Padukke area had faced this incident while hiding in a jungle near a quarry where his friend is working due to family dispute over his love affair with a girl it has been revealed.

The deceased was a resident of Meeriyagolla area in Padukke.Padukke Police are investigating on the incident.

A Police Sub Inspector Had Committed Suicide By Shot Himself

Police had today (21)shot and killed himself with  his official pistol at the official residence of Sub Inspectors  in the Police.

The cause of the suicide has not yet been revealed.However Police have suspected that either due to the  verdict of a fundamental right case filed against the deceased  Sub Inspector at Supreme Court scheduled to be delivered today or due to the illness of his child might have caused the suicide.

Police are investigating on the suicide of the Sub Inspector who was a resident of Mahaingiriya,Ingiriya area according to the Police Media Spokesman's Office.
