Protest March Of The Joint Opposition Has Reached Kiribathgoda- Former President Avoid Rathupaswala Area
When the "Jana Satana" Protest March (Paadha Yathra) launched by the Joint Opposition Group had passed the Rathupaswala Area today (31) where the three protestors had been killed and thirty three persons injured during a clash between residents and government forces three years ago have seen the residents in the area left dozens of water bottles on the roads in Balummahara and Rathupaswala areas for the use of protestors.
The police have somehow removed the water bottles from the roads to avoid a clash between residents and protestors it has been reported.
The Residents in Rathupaswala Area have commemorate the third year of Rathupaswala Clash today (31) which occurred when the residents in the area have demanded a clean water from the authorities during the previous government.
Due to this situation the former president Mahinda Rajapakshe who was in power when the Rathupaswala clash occurred have seen avoid participating the march when the protest march passed the area and he has later joined the march from the imbulgoda junction.
The protest march which started from Nittambuwa this morning has ended at Kiribathgoda this evening.It is due to arrive in Colombo tomorrow.

Ministry Of Health To Stop Sending Blood Samples Of Government Hospitals To Private Laboratories
The Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has decided to stop sending blood samples of the government hospital patients to Private Laboratories with effect from 01st of January 2017 the Ministry has announced today (31).
In view of the decision taken in this regard the Health Ministry has launched a programme to distribute Auto Analyzer machines to all government hospitals with laboratory facilities for testing of blood samples it has been reported.
A large number of blood samples of the government hospital patients are being sent to private laboratories for tests at present and due to this situation patients have to bear the expenses of these tests according to hospital reports.

Drug Regulatory Authority To Issue A Circular Regarding Price Reduction Of Drugs On 31st Of August
The Independent Drug Regulatory Authority is due to issue a circular regarding the decrease in escalated prices of drugs on 31st of August according to the Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine.
The Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne along with other higher officials of the Ministry had discussed with the officials of National Chamber Of Drugs regarding the price reduction of drugs recently.
During the meeting the Health Minister has proposed the officials of the National Chamber Of Drugs to reduce the prices of drugs up to 85% it has been reported.
The prices of the some essential drugs in the local market had been increased from 100 to 200 percent recently according to reports.

Speaking to the media the United Peoples Freedom Party (UPFA) MP and son of the former president Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Namal Rajapakshe has stated that the former president Mrs.Kumarathunge had been totally mistaken to think that the protestors of the Paadha Yathra (protest march) will attack the samadhi.
"we are the ones who are protecting the policies of real Sri Lanka Freedom Party founded by late S.W.R.D Bandaranaike" he has stressed.
