Manusha Nanayakkara And Harin Fernando Lost Their Parliament Seats Due To A Supreme Court Judgement

The Supreme Court has yesterday (09) announced that the decision taken by the main opposition  Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB)  Party to ban the Party Membership of Ministers Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando is legitimate.


Therefore the Tribunal Supreme Court Judge Panel has quashed the petition filed by the two Former Ministers requesting the Court to issue an order saying that the Samagijanabalawegaya Party's decision to ban their party membership as a result of their cross over to the government bench is illegal .The Tribunal Supreme Court Judge panel comprising of Vijitha Malalagoda,Achala Wengappuli and Arjuna Obeysekare had delivered  the judgement.Due to this judgement both Manusha Nanayakkare and Harin   Fernando had lost their Parliament seats as well as Ministerial

Namal Rjapakshe Named As Presidential Candidate To Fulfill The Public Appeal -Former President

 Former President Mahinda Rajaakshe has stated that he has named his eldest son MP Namal Rajapakshe as the Presidential Candidate of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (Sri Lanka Progressive Party) as people in the country are asking a youth leadership .


MP  Namal Rajapakshe was named as the Presidential Candidate of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Party after the famous Banker Dhammika Perera has refused to contest the Election form the party .Meanwhile Many MP 's and active members of  the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party had already announced that they will support the current President Ranil Wiramasinghe in the Forthcoming  Presidential election.




Main Opposition SJB Chairman Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka resigned From His Post

 The Chairman of the Man Opposition Samagijanabalawegaya (SB) Party Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has been resigned from his post yesterday(09).


He has taken this decision in view of contesting the forthcoming presidential election scheduled to be held on 21 st of September it has been reported.

Twenty Two Passangers Were Injured Due To Bus Collision

 Twenty two passangers were injured and hospitalized after the two private buses they were travelling in colliding with each other at Aralaganwila Road ,Mahaoya,(Anuradhapura District) yesterday(03).



The injured including 12 females, 08 Children and 02 males were admitted to the Mahaoya Hospital for treatment .The incident occurred when a Private Bus travellingfrom Mahaoya to Aralaganwila had collided with another Private Bus travelling in the opposite direction according  to the police.Police have arrested one of the private Bus drivers in connection  with the accident .

Five Injured Due To A Motor Car Collision on Southern Express Highway

Five persons were injured and hospitalized due to a Motor car collision at 92 Kilo meter post area between Baddegama and Pinnaduwa areas of the  Southern Express highway it has been reported.The incident occurred due to a collision between two Motor vehicles travelling in the same direction according to reports.

Due to this accident the traffic of the road has been completely blocked it has been reported.
