Parliament To Hold An Emergency Session On 02 nd Of July

Speaker   Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane  has called an emergency session of the Parliament on 02nd of July as per the request made by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardane .




The emergency session of the Parliament is due to convene to make room for the President Ranil Wikramasinghe to make a special statement regarding the country's economic situation and bankruptcy it has been reported.Earlier Parliament was scheduled to be convened on 09 th off July .


 පාර්ලිමේන්තුව ලබන 2 වැනිදා හදිසියේ කැඳවීමට කතානායක මහින්ද යාපා අබේවර්ධන මහතා තීරණය කර ඇත.

අගමැති දිනේෂ් ගුණවර්ධන මහතා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ ස්ථාවර නියෝගවල 16 ස්ථාවර නියෝගය ප්‍රකාරව කළ ඉල්ලීමක් අනුව පාර්ලිමේන්තුව මෙසේ කැඳවන බව පාර්ලිමේන්තුව ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කළේය.

ජනාධිපතිවරයාට ප්‍රකාශයක් කිරීම සඳහා පාර්ලිමේන්තුව මෙසේ කැඳවන බවද එම ආරංචි මාර්ග සඳහන් කළේය.

ඔහු එදින රටේ ආර්ථික තත්ත්වය, බංකොලොත්භාවය යනාදී කාරණා සම්බන්ධයෙන් ප්‍රකාශයක් කිරීමට නියමිතය.

පාර්ලිමේන්තුව සාමාන්‍ය පරිදි රැස්වීමට නියමිතව තිබුණේ ලබන 9 වැනිදාය.

පාර්ලිමේන්තුව ලබන 2 වැනිදා හදිසියේ රැස්වන බවට සියලු පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන්ට දැනුම් දීමට පාර්ලිමේන්තුව කටයුතු කරමින් සිටී.

එසේම ලබන 2 වැනිදායින් පසු පාර්ලිමේන්තුව රැස්වන දිනය තීරණය කිරීම සඳහා පාර්ලිමේන්තු කටයුතු පිළිබඳ කාරක සභාවේ රැස්වීමක් ලබන28 සිකුරාදා පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

Police Arrested A Student In Pocession Of Fake 500 Rupee Notes

 Thambuttegama (Anuradhapura,District) Police have arrested a 17 year old student  yesterday ,(25) in Pocession  of six fake  Rs.500 notes at the Thambuttegama bus station  according to the Police.Police officers have recovered these notes after searching the student who  had shown a suspicious behavior .


Police have recovered several fake   money printing machines from his home during a,search operation carried  out afterwards The detained  student is a resident of Udunuwara,area in Nochchiyagama according to the Police.

Government To Reduce The Tax Imposed On Imported Coconut Oil

 Government has decided to reduce the tax imposed on imported Coconut oil to control the rising prices of Coconut oil in the local market the Minister of Agriculture and crop industry Mahinda Amaraweera.    


.At  present a tax of R.150 is being imposed on a Liter of imported Coconut oil and as there is around 70,000 metric  tonnes of Imported Coconut oil is being  available  in the country no one can complain that there is a coconut oil shortage he has stated.


An Eighteen Year Old Student Shot himself At His House

 An eighteen year old student had committed suicide by shot himself at his house in Ulapane road,Gamapola yesterday(25) according to the Police.The deceased  locked his room after his parents left for work and shot his mouth from a hand gun owned by his father it has been revealed.


The cause behind the shooting has not yet been revealed and Police suspect that he may  have suffered from  stress due to studies.His brother had informed  the Police regarding the shooting

A Postal Package With A Stock Of Over 4 Kilo Gramnes Of Ice Seized At Central Mail Exchange

A Postal package with a stock of  4 Kilo grammes and 847 Grammes of Crystal Methamphetamine (Ice) narcotic   sent to Colombo from Pakistan had been seized in the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo yesterday (24) by the Police.According to the Police Media the stock of Narcotic contained in the package is worth around Rs.400 million .


Police have arrested three persons in connection with the Narcotic package it has been revealed .

Navy Have Recovered 46 KG OF Tendu Leaves In Mannar

Sri Lanka Navy have recovered 46 Kilo Grammes of Tendu leaves used to wrap tobacco for Beedi cigarettes suspected to have been smuggled into the country during a search operation carried out  in south bar area of Mannar (Northern Sri Lanka)..


The stock of Tendu leaves was wrapped in 98 parcels according to the Navy .The North Central Navy command SLNS Gajaba had handed over the stock of Tendu leaves to Mannar Police for a legal action it has been reported.
