A New Hotline For North And East Provinces To Make Complaints

A Police Emergency Hotline 107 has been introduced for the public in North and Eastern provinces to make complaints in Tamil language .

This hotline has been introduced  under the instructions of Minister of Public Security Tiran alles and Inspector General Of Police (IGP)  Deshabandu Tennakoon it has been reported

Forest Fires Reported In Some Areas Due To Extreme Heat

 Due to the hot weather prevails in the island at present Forest fires have been reported from 30 areas in the island during last 10 days according to the Disaster Management Center(DMC).

According to the DMC due to the extreme weather some areas in the island are being faced water scarcity and instructed the public in those areas to inform the situation to Grama niladhari officials .DMC has also advised the public to  report about forest fires  to the hotline 117.,

Seventeen High Rank Police Officers Transferred

 Seventeen high rank Police officers including tje Director of Criminal Invwstigations  Department (CID)  have been transferred with immediatte effect under the decision made by the National Police Commission.

Accordingly the Inspector General Of

Police(IGP) Deshabandu Themnakoon had instructed the authorities  to transfer eight Senior Deputy director  General of Police (DDG"S) ,a DDG amd eight Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) it has been reported.The current  director of  CID SSP K.G.A.K Piyasekare has been transferred to head the Kalutara poice division.  

Nine Students Fallen Sick After Consuming School Meal

 Nine students attached to the Passara Primary School had fallen sick after consuming lunch provided by the school and admitted  to the hospital yesterday (14) it has been reported.

The sick students were admitted to the Passara,Hospital for treatment but their condition is  reported as,stable  .

Maligakande Magistrate Refused The Bail Applications Of Seven Health Ministry Officials

 Maligakande Magistrate Lochani Abeywikrama had refused the bail applications submitted by the seven suspects of the   low quality Human immunoglobulin injection vials import case. Including former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella   Yesterday (14)  And ordered to remand them  further until 28th of this

.

By delivering  the  verdict Maligakande Magistrate has stated that the allegations levelled against  all the suspects were proved both verbaly and literaly and if they are granted bail at this point there will be a public outrage.

Only Male Zebra In The Country Died-Dehiwala Zoo

 The only  male Zebra lived  in the country has died at the Dehiwala Zoo yesterday (14) according to the sources.He died whilst transporting from Safari park in Ridiagama to Dehiwala Zoo it has been reported.

According to the  employees of  Dehiwala Zoo the.Zebra has died after being given a high dose of an injection.Now only two female Zebras are living in the Zoo at present it has been revealed.Meanwhile the Minister Of  Wildlife And Forest Conservation Pavitra Wanniarachchi has instructed the officials to hold an inquiry on sudden death of the male Zebra.
