Fifty Inmates Of Kandakadu Camp Escaped

 Fifty inmates attached to the  Kandakadu Rehabilitation Camp at Welikanda area(North Central Province) were escaped  from the Camp this evening (11) due to a tense situation occurred at the Camp it has been reported.


Police officers attached to the Welikanda Police are being  launched a special mission in search of the missing inmates and  taken into custody  23 inmates in the forest area, according to the reports.Police  along with  Army officers are being surrounded the Welikande forest area to capture the missing inmates.

A Six Hour Islandwide Power Failure Occurred Due To A System Failure

 The sudden  Islandwide Power failure that  occured last evening (09) caused due to a System failure in the main supply line between Kothmale and Biyagama areas according to the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB).


AS per some reports a lightning  which struck the main supply line between Kothmale and Biyagama had caused this blackout But that shouldn't be the only cause for this blackout according to the CEB.

The restoration of power was done through few steps and the complete restoration of Power has done during a six hour period it has been reported. CEB has launched an investigation regarding yesterday 's power failure the Board has announced.

Train Delays Reported In Upcountry Railway Line Due To Soil Mound Collapse

A Train delay is being occurred  at  the Upcountry Railway Line as a result of the blockage of the Railway line due to a soil mound collapsed between Demodara and  Hali-Ela train stations  according to the Railway Control Room.


Railway workers are currently working to  restore the  normal train services of the line the  Control Room had announced .

Train delays in the Upcountry Railway line is common these days due to the falling of soil mounds into the Railway tracks as a result of the heavy showers prevailing in the upcountry at present according to the Railways Department .

 

 

One Of The Female Giraffe's In Dehiwala Zoo Died In Sad Status

One of the two female Giraff's residing in Dehiwala Zoo has died unfortunately  on last Thursday(07)'due to an attempt made by the veterinary  surgeons to treat her leg wound under Anesthesia it has been reported.


The deceased female Giraffe who was 30 years old  got a large wound on one of her legs  since sometime back and lied on the ground most of the times  as she couldn't    walk properly  according to the Zoo officials .

When the Veterinary surgeons had attempted to treat the wound under Anesthesia by giving the female Giraffe an Antibiotic drug surgeons unable to revive her after the surgery and as a result she has pronounced as dead according to reports. 

An independent inquiry is currently underway regarding the death of the female Giraffe according to the deputy director of the Dehiwala Zoo Dinushika Manawadu.The postmortem of the female Giraffe had been conducted by the Veterinary surgeons of the Widelife Conservation department and the  Faculty of Animal sciences in Peradeniya  University.

The deceased Giraffe was  born in 1993 and named as "Haley"according to the Zoo officials .
