Sports Minister Sacked The Cricket Board -Corrupt Officials Reversed It

 Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe had sacked the Management of the Sri Lanka Cricket board and appointed an Interim Commitee to run Sri Lanka Cricket headed by the former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Arjuna Ranatunge last Monday morning(06).

However the Sacked Cricket Board president Shammi de silva had taken an interim order From the Court of Appeal yesterday   to temporarily ban the Sports minister's  decision to appoint an interim committee to carryout duties of Sri Lanka cricket and the gazette notification issued by the Minister in this regard.The Court of Appeal had issued an interim order banning the function

Sports Minister had appointed a seven member Interim court on monday by sacking the SriLanka cricket board  management headed by Shammi de silva over corruption charges .The members of the newly appointed interim committee are Arjuna Ranatunge (president) ,Retired Supreme Court Justices M,I.M Imam,Rohini Marasinghe,Retired High Court Justice Iranganie Perera,Upali Darmadasa,Rakitha,Rajapakshe,and Hisham Jamaldeen.Retired Court judges were appointed to the committee to investigate on the alallegations levelled against the sacked cricket board management .

The match losses of the  Sri Lanka Cricket team  in the ongoing World cup tournament in India led to severe criticism of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and players.

Sri Lanka's All Rounder Anjalo Mathews Became The First Victim Of The Tmed Out Rule

Sri Lanka's All rounder Anjelo mathews has become the first Cricketer who was   dismissed due to the Timed Out rule of the International Cricket Council applied by the Bangladesh Cricket captain Shakib Al hassen during the World Cup match that played in Arun jaitley stadium at new delhi ,India last evening.


As a result of the Bangladesh cricket captain's request umpire had given  Mathews out and he was,sent back to the psvilion without facing a single ball.Mathews had faced  this incident due to his failure to face the ball after coming to bat within three minutes due to a broken strap of his helmet it has been reported.

Mathews had appealed against thedecision but the unpires had ruled him out and many commentators of the match also shown their disbelief over the decision.

Many Areas In Colombo Submerged Due To Heavy Showers

 Due to the heavy showers prevailing in the country at present many areas in the Colombo district  had been  submerged last evening (06) it has been reported .


Accordingly areas including  Armour street,Grandpass,Maradana,Thummulla junction ,Dematagoda and Punchi borella had been  submerged caused heavy trafic in the  roads of  surrounding areas it has been reported.

Litro Gas Prices Had Been Increased

The Litro Gas Company has increased the prices  of Litro  Domestic  LP Gas Cylinders   with effect from last night(04) the Company has announced .


With the new Price revision the Price of a Cylinder of 12.5 KG Litro Gas has been increased by Rs.95 to Rs.3565 ,Price of the 5KG Gas Cylinder by Rs.38 to Rs.1431 and the price of 2.3 KG Gas Cylinder by Rs.18  to Rs.668.

Seven Persons Were Arrested With With Heroin

Seven persons including a Police Constable had  been arrested by the Police yesterday (03) in possession of a haul of Heroin weighing 03 Grammes and 150 Miligrams  at Denagama area in Hakmana,Matara District.


The seven suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Court today (04).
