Four Students Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Brawl Incident

 Four students attached to a School in Kurunagala District (North west Province)were injured and admitted to the Kurunagala teaching hospital due to a brawl occurred between two student groups attached to a school in Kurunagala  District yesterday (15).


Accordingly these students were injured and hospitalized due to the  brawl incident occurred between two student groups of the grade 11 and 12 classes the Kurunagala headquarter police had stated .The Police officers attached to the child and women"s bureau of  Kurunagala headquarter police are investigating on the incident .

Ministry Of Health To Give Two Year Extension For Retired Doctors

The  Ministry of Health has decided to give a  two year extension for the group of doctors who are due to be retired from the service this year at the age of 63  due to the brain drain in the country  according to the Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella .


Accordingly around 500 doctors are due to receive two year extension in their servoce  on contract basis.



Landslide Warnings Issued For Three Districts

 The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) had issued landslide warnings to five Divisional Secretariets in Three Districts last evening (14) due to the adverse weather conditions  prevailing in those areas .


Accordingly NBRO had issued landslide warnings to Seethawaka,Warakapola, Ratnapura,Kuruwita and ehaliagoda Divisional secretariets in Colombo ,Kegalle and Ratnapura,districts as those areas had received above 75 mili meters of Rain during yesterday .

Former MP Nishantha Muthuhettigama Was Remanded

 Former Galle district MP and Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama had been arrested and remanded until 21st of September over keeping a assembled  Vehilcle with fake Number plates in posession . 


Galle Chief Magistrate  Isuru Neththikumara had ordered to remand the former MP until 21st of September .The Magistrate has also ordered to issue notices for the director of Anti Corruption Unit of walana who was conducted an inquiry on the charges levelled against  former MP Muthuhettigama.

Railway Strike Was Called Off

 The Strike launched by the 84 members of the Locomotive Operating Engineers Union had been called off last night (13) following the discussons held between the strikers and the Government officials.

The two day old strike


called off due to receiving solutions for the demands of  the strikers the Locomotive Operating Engineers Union had stated .Many scheduled train journeys were cancelled during the last two days,as a result of the strike.

Meanwhile Government had yesterday  issued a Gazette notification declaring the Railway service as an essential service and announced if the strikers are not  returning  to work they will be served with letters of  vacation of their posts .
