Two University Students Were Arrested With Three Fake Rs.5000 Currency Notes

Akkaraipattu Police had arrested two students attached to the Oluwil University in Ampara District with Three  fake Rs.five thousand notes in their possession .

Police have arrested the two University students according to the information provided by a fruit stall vendor when the Rs.5000 fake note was paid to the vendor by one of the suspects.

Police have recovered another two fake Rs.5000 notes in possession of the two suspects .During the questioning the two suspects had revealed that another person had given them the fake Rupees five thousand notes and requested  them to exchange those to real notes and they were provided a commission for doing that.

Akkaraipattu Police are investigating to arrest the person who had given the fake notes to the University Students .

Four Higher Officials Of Railways Department Interdicted Over Stealing A Stock Of Steel

 Minister of Transport Bandula Gunwaradane had interdicted the service of four higher officials attached to the Department of Railways over stealing a stock of imported steel worth lacks of rupees belongs to the Railway track construction project between Mahawa to Omanthai areas.

Transport Ministry had launched an investigations over the incident it has been reported .

An Earth Tremor Reported In Buttala Area

 An earth tremor measuring 3 magnitudes had been reported in Buttala area (Uva province) this noon (10)according to the Department of Meteorology .

The public in Buttala town as well as in  surrounding areas had felt the  aftershocks of this tremor the department has stated .

A Female Motorist Was Killed Due To A Motor Car Accident

 A Female motorist was killed and three others were injured and hospitalized when the car they were traveling in had fallen in to a precipice at Riverston area in Matale District (Central Province) yesterday (09) according to the Police.

The deceased female who was driving the car was killed at the spot due to the accident which occurred when there were heavy misty and windy conditions the Police have stated ,The deceased and the the injured were identified as the residents of Matale district . 

Health Ministry Recommended Authorities To Reship Stocks Of Imported Dried Chillies Not Suitable For Consumption

 The food safety Division of Ministry Of Health had recommended the authorities to reship more than 40 containers contains stocks of Dried Chilies  which found as not suitable for human consumption during last three months .

Some businessmen were allowed to destroy the stocks of Imported Dried chilies which found as not suitable for consumption the Ministry has stated .
