Electricity Board Assured Supreme Court There Wil Be No Power Cuts Until Taking UP Of The Contempt Of Court Petition Against Them

 Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has assured  the Supreme Court yesterday (02) that there will be no scheduled power cuts until the contempt of  court petition  filed by Human Rights commission before the court against violating the promise given by the Electricity Board regarding  the non implementation of power cuts until the conclusion of the ongoing GCE Advanced Level examination .

 The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has made the assurance to the court through it's lawyer President's counsel Uditha  Egalahewa and stated that during the said period no power cuts will be implemented in the island .

The contempt of court petition filed by the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission against Electricity Board has been taken up for consideration at 11.30 a.m today (03). 

 

 

 

A Body Of A Businessman Discovered From A Swimming Pool

The body of a 50 year old Millionare businessman involved in Apparel industry here had found from a Swimming pool attached to the rooftop swimming pool of his newly constructed house at Palawatte Battaramulla(Colombo).

The deceased Businessman Roshan Wanninayake who was resided in Colombo suburbs had left his home on 31,st of January and never returned home afterwards according to the Police spokesman SP Nihal Thalduwa.The relatives of the Businessman had lodged  a Missing person's complaint at Wellampitiya Police regarding the dissapearance of the Millionaire .

The sister of the Businessman who had visited the Newly  constructed  house in Palawatte had discovered  the body of his brother police spokesman has stated.The Magistireal inquiry of the death has been conducted at the site before the body has been removed from the swimming pool.The cause of the death has not yet been revealed.

Ceypetco Increased The Petrol Price

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has increased the price of a liter of Octane-92 Petrol by Rs.30 with effect from midnight tonight (01) .

 

With this new price hike a Liter of Octane-92 Petrol has been increased to Rs.370 to Rs.400 .Meanwhile Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) has also announced that they too will increase the price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol by Rs.30 with effect from today .

 

Imprisoned IUSF Convener Released On Bail

The convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige had been released on bail today (01) by the Colombo Fort Magistrate  over the three cases filed against him at the court .

 

Yesterday (31) he was released on bail over  the case filed against him under terrorism prevention act .
