Police Arrested Five Protesters Who Have Demanded The Relaese Of Detained IUSF Convener

Panadura South  Police have today (12)  arrested five protesters including two females who had  participated in a protest march held demanding the release of two detained activists of Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) at Kalutara Bridge

The detained females had participated the protest march by holding  placards with the photos of detained convener of the Inter University Students Federation Wasantha Mudalige and convener of Inter University Bhikku Federation Venerable Galwewa Siridhamma thero and demanding their release .Police officers had made several attempts to turned away the protest march but they have failed to do so it has been reported ,

Police have later released the five detainees on Police bail .

Supreme Court Had Issued A Court Order Directing IUSF Convener To Produce Before A Magistrate

 The Supreme Court had today (10) ordered the relevant authorities to produce the convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF)  Wasantha Mudalige who was arrested under the terrorism prevention act , before a Magistrate ,

Supreme Court has also ordered the authorities to produced Wasantha Mudalige before the judicial medical officer in Karapaitiya teaching hospital .The petition filed at the court by Mudalige challenging his detention is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on 31st of January it has been announced.

Matrara Court Banned The Selling Of Thriposha Products

Matara Additional Magistrate had today (10) ordered to ban the selling and distribution of Thriposha products "Suposha,Lakposha and Nanaposha within Matara Judicial area (Southern province ) due to containing of  higher levels of "Aflotoxine " chemical substance .

The Matara Additional Magistrate Saman D.K Parana pathirana had issued the  ban order for the companies making above products .Additional Magistrate had also ordered the supermarkets and the sales outlets to withdraw the all the stocks of Suposha products in the market ,Court has also issued an injunction order to prevent these products entering the market .

A Sudden Fire Erupted In A Section Of Karapaitiya Hospital Destroyed Equipment

Due to a sudden fire erupted at the Cancer unit attached to Karapaitiya Teaching Hospital (Southern province ) this evening (10) many equipment in the unit including scan machines had destroyed it has  been reported ,The Cancer patients in the unit had been safely removed from the unit after the incident according to the hospital authorities .

Fire brigades attached to the Galle Municipal council  have doused the fire .The cause behind the fire has not yet been identified .
