Sapugaskande Oil Refinery Shut Down Again

 The Sapugaskande Oil Refinery  has been closed down again from today (07) due to the non availability of foreign reserves to pay for a Crude oil ship the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare.has stated in Parliament .

However there's no shortage of Oil refined products in the country as the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has an adequate stocks of oil .

According to the  Energy Minister the  shortage of Forex for payment of   two Crude oil Cargos already used at the refinery has led to the decision to close down the refinery. 

He added that the ship carrying 100,000 Metric tones of  Crude Oil Cargo that has been in Sri Lankan waters for the last 10 days will be unloaded as soon as an adequate Forex is available to the Ceypetco

Daily Power Cuts To Be Implemented For Another Three Dats

 The Public Utilities Commission has given approval to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to impose two hours and twenty minutes long daily Power cut for another three  days(08-10) the Commission has stated .

Accordingly there will be one hour long power cut to be implemented during the day time and One hour and twenty minutes long power cut due to be implemented during night period in twenty zones of the country for the next three days .

STF Personal Had Arrested A Person In Possession Of Kerala Cannabies And Ice

 Police Special Task Force(STF) personal had arrested a 56 year old person in possession of 475 Grammes of Kerala Cannabis and 30 Gra,mmes of Ice narcotic during a raid carried out in Colombo -12 yesterday (05).

The suspect was handed over to the Keselwattae Police for further investigations .

Prices Of Milk Tea And Plain Tea Had Reduced

 The All Ceylon Canteen Owners Association had reduced the Prices of Milk Tea and Plain tea by Rs.10 and Rs.20 respectively with effect from today (06).

Accordingly the Price of Milk Tea had been reduced to Rs.100 and Plain Tea to Rs.30 the Association has stated .The Prices of Milk Tea and Plain Tea had slashed due to the reduction of Gas Prices according to the national convener  of the All Ceylon Canteen Owners Association Asela Sampath.
