Two Hours And Twenty Minute Long Power Cut To Be Continued For Another Two Days

 The Public Utilities Commission had given permission to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to  impose a two hour and twenty minute long daily power cuts for another two days according to the Commission .


Accordingly the two hour and twenty minutes long power cuts will be implemented both tomorrow (27) and the day after (28) .This power cut will be imposed as  one hour during the day period and one hour and twenty minutes during the night from 6 p.m to 10 p.m in the 20 zones named as A to W in the country 

Twenty Five Injured Due To A Collison Between Two Buses

 Twenty Five persons had been injured  and hospitalized due to a collision of two buses at Ilimba area in Horana(Kalutara district-Western Province) today (26) .The injured were admitted to the Horana Base Hospital for treatment .


The incident occurred  when a Bus transporting a group of 40 Garment Factory employees from Panadura to a Garment factory at Gurugoda in Horana had collided with a Parked empty School Bus  .Due to the collision the Parked School bus was drifted away around 100 meters ahead and crashed in to a garage after colliding with electric post and a telephone post it has been reported.

President Ranil Wikramasinghe To Leave For Japan Tomorrow(26)

President Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to leave for Japan tomorrow morning (26) to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who was assassinated  by a Gunman recently. 



During his visit President Wikramasinghe will hold bi lateral talks with the  Japanese Emperor ,Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister according to sources .


Prices Of Parliament Lunch Supplied For MP's And Media Personal Increased

 Due to the current economic crisis in the country,  lunch provided for Parliamentarians and Media personnel from the Parliament Canteen had been increased by Rs.100 and Rs,50 respectively according to the Parliament sources .


Accordingly  the price of the lunch providing for a MP had been increased to Rs.300 from Rs.200 and the lunch of a Media personnel had been increased to Rs.150 from Rs.100.Prices of lunch providing for other Parliament officers and employees had been also increased recently ,  

Eighty Three Protesters Arrested During A Protest Yesterday Released On Bail

 Eighty three Protesters arrested during a protest march held in Colombo yesterday (24) were released on bail  today (25) by the Police and the  Maligakanda Magistrate Court .




Accordingly Eighty of the Poetasters w    ere released on Police bail and Three protesters including the organizer of the Protest Ranga Gunasekare who is also the National Organizer of the Socialist Youth Wing were released after been produced before the Maligakande Magistrate Court on surety bail of Rs..200,000 each .
