Three Fuel Ships Anchored In Colombo Since Last Month Due To Dollar Shortage

Three ships carrying Diesel and Crude Oil are being anchored in Sri Lankan seas since last month as a result of the delaying of payments for the ships  due to the current dollar shortage  in the country according to the Ministry Of Power and Energy .



       Accordingly the authorities had been failed to make   payments for two Diesel ships and a crude oil ship which are being anchored in Sri Lankan seas since early and late August ,Ministry had managed to pay half of the amount need to pay for one  ship it has  been reported.

A Person Was Shot And Killed At Kelaniya

 A person was shot and killed by two unidentified individuals arrived in  a Motorcycle at Pattiya Junction in Kelaniya (Western Province )  this evening (14) according to the Police     


                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

The two persons involved in the shooting incident had fled away after shot and killed the victim who was  walking on the road at the time of the incident it has been reveled .,The identity of the victim has not  yet been reveled .Kelaniya Police are investigating on the incident .

Ten Sri Lankan And Indian Fishermen Arrested With A Stock Of 434 KG Of Kerala Cannabis

 Sri Lanka Navy had today (14) arrested 10 Sri Lankan and Indian fishermen with 434 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in their possession during a joint raid carried out with the officers of Coastal guard Department, near the sea area west of  Point of Kudiramalai at Puttalam District (North Western Province ).,


The stock of Kerala Cannabis had been stored in 09 bags and hidden  in  the Boat belonging to the Indian Fisherman according to Sri Lanka Navy .  The estimated value of the stock of Kerala Cannabis taken in to custody is around Rs.130 million it has been revealed .

 Ministry of Public Adminidtration and Home affairs  had declared next Monday (19)as s National day of mourning And a Public holiday for the state sectot to mark the Royal Funeral of Queen Elizabeth the second .
