IMF Delegation Had Arrived In Sri Lanka

 A ten ten rmember  delegation attached to the International Monetary Fund(IMF ) has arrived in Sri  Lanka today (20) to hold talks with Sri Lankan government officials regarding the easing of the current economic crisis faced by the country.




The visiting IMF Delegation led by it's senior operations chief Peter brewery is scheduled to stay in Sri Lanka for a ten-day period and hold talks with local counterparts regarding easing the current economic crisis in Sri  Lanka. 

The delegation held talks today (20) with Sri Lankan counterparts including premier Ranil wikramasinghe and Central bank governor Nandalal weerasinghe .Sri Lanka is seeking US Dollar 3 billion loan package from IMF it has been revealed,

Australian Government To Provide US Dollars 50 Million Financial Aid To Sri Lanka

  The Australian Government had decided to grant US Dollars 50 million as financial aid to ease the economic crisis faced by the country the Australian Embassy in Colombo had announced,


This Financial Aid will be provided to Purchase essential drugs and Fuel the Embassy has stressed. Under this Financial Aid US Dollars 22 million will be provided through World Food Programme and another US Dollars 23 million will be provided to Purchase essential drugs and for the Economic Development of the country it has been revealed.

Under the US Dollars,are  22 million scheduled to be provided through the World Food programme is allocated to fulfill the daily food requirements of the general public the Australian Embassy has stated , the Australian Government had already provided  US Dollars 5 million aid to the United Nations agencies in the country to provide assistance it has been stated,

Twenty One Galle Face Protesters Were Arrested Over Blocking The Entrance Of Finance Ministry

 Police have today (20) arrested 21 protesters attached to the "Gotagogama" Protest site in Galle face green,Colombo over launching a protest against President Gotabahya Rajapakshe by blocking the main entrance of the Ministry of Finance in Colombo Fort .


Twenty one protesters including a Buddhist Priest were arrested for protesting by blocking the Ministry entrance and later they were released on bail after producing before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ,The arrested protesters were released on a surety bail of Rs.100,000 each it has been reported,

The protesters had built temporary huts at the main entrance of the Ministry of Finance against the Birthday celebration of President Rajapakshe they have stated afterward, Police along with Army personnel had removed the huts amidst the opposition of Protesters,

A Tense Situation At A Fuel Station In Kalutara

 A tense situation had occurred at a Fuel station in Meeghathanna area at Kalutara (Western Province ) few hours ago amongst a group of persons staying in queue to get fuel it has been reported.

No More Power Cuts During Morning Session For A Two Week Period -Public Utilities Commission

 A Decision had been taken not to impose power cuts from 7 a.m to 1 p,m  during next two weeks to facilitate online education of School children the Public Utilities Commission had announced.


Accordingly two hours and thirty minutes long power cut will be imposed during above period daily from 1 p.m to 10.30 p.m the Commission had stated .
