Former MP Ranjna Ramanyalke Sentenced To Another Two Year Jail Term

 Imprisoned  Former MP attached to the main opposition Samagijanablawegaya (SJB) Party Ranjana Ramanyake had been sentenced to two year rigorous imprisonment today (07) by the Supreme Court in connection of his second contempt of court case.

Former MP Ramanayake is currently serving a four year rigorous imprisonment since 11th of January 2021 on first contempt of court case .

Opposition MP Champika Ranawake Became An Independent MP In Parliament

 Colombo District MP of the main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB) Party Patali Champika Ranawake had decided to become an Independent MP In Parliament from today (07).

Announcing his decision to become an Independent MP During a meeting held in Colombo today ,MP Ranawake has stated that he will not accept any Cabinet portfolio from the government but will submit proposals to government on how to solve power crisis . 

Litro Gas Company Had Again Suspended Supplying Of LP Gas

 Litro Gas Cylinders will not be distributed  tomorrow  (08) due to the Shortage of Gas cylinders the Litro Gas company had announced .

Distribution of Litro Gas will be resumed  soon after commencing the manufacturing process of  Gas the Company had stated .During last few days Litro Gas Company had distributed limited number of  Domestic LP Gas Cylinders to selected areas in Colombo District .

Minister Prasanna Ranatunge Was Sentenced To Two Years Imprisonment Suspended For Five Years Over Threatening A Businessman

Colombo High Court had today (06) sentenced  Minister of Urban Development and Housing Prasanna Ranatunge  to two year imprisonment suspended for five years over a case filed for threatening a businessman over the phone and demanding Rs.64 million ransom in 2015 ,

The High Court had also ordered  the Minister Ranatunge to pay a fine of Rs.25 million and In the event of defaulting the fine the Minister was ordered to serve nine months imprisonment. In addition the High court had ordered the Minister to pay a compensation of Rupees one million   to t he virtual complaint of the case ,Businessman Gehad Mendis had lodged a complaint against the Minister Ranatunge ,
