Many Factions Opposed Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe's Appointment

 Although United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe had been appointed as the new Prime Minister In Sri Lanka many factions including the main opposition Smagijanabalawegaya Party ,Jathika Janabalawegaya Party as well as religious leaders including Chief Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith had refused to accept his appointment ,


These factions had argued that Premier Ranil Wikramsinghe legally not eligible to hold the Prime Minister's post as he is not elected to the Parliament by the voters .Several Media Briefings were held in Colombo  on this  regard during yesterday .

EX Premier Mahinda Rajpakshe And 23 Others Faced Foreign Travel Ban

 Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage had today (12) ordered the Immigration and Emigration controller ban Ex Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe and 23 others from going abroad over their


involvement in attacking Protesters at Galle Face green and threatening and damaged their properties.


The 24 persons who are being faced a foreign travel ban includes Ex  Premier Mahinda Rajapajshe's son MP Namal Rajapakshe and MP Sanath Nishanatha .

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Had Been Appointed As New Prime Minister

 Former Prime Minister and the leader of the United National Party (UNP)  Ranil Wikramsinghe had been appointed as the 26th Prime Minister of Democratic socialist republic of Sri Lanka today (12) by the President Gotabaya Rajapakshe .


New Prime Minister had been elected to Parlialment through the National List and his party the United National Party had failed to secure a single seat in Parliament at the last General Election ,Prime Minister Wikramaisnghe had been appointed for the premier post for sixth time and it has been reported as a world record ,

Now the new premier will face an uphill task to show he got the support of majority in Parliament according to  the Political observers .

If The Country Cannot Achieved Political Stability In Two Weeks I Will Resign -Central Bank Governor

Central Bank Governor Dr .Nandalal Weerasinghe  has today (11) stated that  If the  Political stability in the country  cannot be achieved within next two weeks  he will resign from his post ,


Addressing a special Media Briefing held in Colombo today the Central Bank governor had stated that he had informed on his decision to President as well as to all the political parties .

"If the  law and order in the country have been not implemented properly  it will be hard for the country to coming out from the economic crisis "Central Bank governor had further stated .

SJB Party And Jathika Janabalawegaya Party To Consider Taking Over Of The Govt ,After President Resigns

Both the main Opposition Samagijanabalawegaya Party (SJB) as well as Jathika Jana Balawegaya Party (National Peoples Power ) had submitted proposals to the government regarding taking over the administration stating they will take over the government only after President Gotabaya Raajapakshe resigns from his post . 




Samagi Jana Balawegaya Party leader Sajith Premadasa as well as the Jathika Janabalawegaya Party Leader Anura Kumara Dasanayake had stated they will not ready to take over the government when president rajapakshe is still in power .

Government /Semi Govt .And Private Sector Employees Had Called Off Their Strike

 The Island Wide strike launched  by around 1000 trade unions attached to Government ,Semi Government and Private sectors since last Monday (09) evening against the attack on  Galle face protesters had called off this evening according to National Trade Union Center .



Government ,Semi Government and Private sector employees including Government health workers had been participated this strike crippling the health services and activities of many other sectors for two days it has  been reported. All the employees in above sectors are due to  be reported to work tomorrow trade  unions had stated .
