Police Sargent Arrested Over Making Anti Government Statement At Galle Face Had Been Released

 The Police Sargent of Kuttigala Police who was arrested yesterday  (14) by the Police over making a statement on provoking public at Galle Face protest site had been released on bail this morning after been produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate .


The Sargent was arrested by Colombo Fort Police last evening by accusing that he has  made  a statement at the Galle face protest site which can  provoked public against the government

35,000 Metric Tones Of Diesel Is Currently Being Unloaded From A Ship -Ceypetco

 Stock of Diesel is currently being unloaded from the Ship which arrived at Colombo Harbor yesterday (14) carrying 41,000 Metric tonnes of Diesel   under the Indian credit line . the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Ceypetco)has announced .

Another ship carrying 35,000 Metric tonnes of Petrol under the Indian Credit line is also scheduled to arrive at Colombo Harbor today (15) the Corporation has stated .However, long queues to get Fuel and Kerosene oil had seen in front of Fuel stations both yesterday and today .


Litro Gas To Purchase 8500 Metric Tones Of Gas From World Bank Aid Received To Purchase Medicines ?

 The main domestic LP Gas provider in Sri Lanka Litro Gas had announced yesterday (14) that they are due to be received 8500 metric tones of Gas within next few days .



The Company had halted the distribution of Gas  for five days since last Wednesday (13) until 18th of April due to the shut down of it's Gas terminals at Muthrurajawela and Kerawalapitiya whilst many people were in queues in front of Gas outlets at  many areas ,

Meanwhile Litro Gas Company has also stated that above stock of Gas scheduled to  be purchased from the US Dollars 10 million aid  scheduled to be received from World Bank, However the Health authorities had announced few days back that   US Dollars 10 million aid scheduled to  be received  from  World Bank to purchase Medicinal drugs to hospitals which are in short supply .

Massive Crowd Gathered At The Galle Face Protest Site Yesterday (14)

 A massive crowd including artistes and people belonging to various other fields  had  gathered at  the Galle Face Green in Colombo last night (14) to support the protesters who have been protesting since last Saturday there  demanding the President Gotabaya Rajapakshe to leave the Office .


Protesters had celebrated traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year at the Gota Go village created at the protest site yesterday with traditional sweetmeats and new year games  it has been reported ,

A Police Sergeant attached to Kuttigala Police station had joined with the protesters yesterday to show his support to  the protest campaign and later in the day Police Department had announced that a disciplinary action and a legal action will be taken against the Police Sergeant over the comments he has made at the protest site

Another 27 Corona Positives And A Corona Death Was Reported Today (14)

 Another 27 Corona Positives and a Corona death had been reported in the country today (14) according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .


Accordingly the total number of Corona Positives reported so far in the country had been increased to 662,775 and the total number of Corona deaths reported so far had been increased to 16,495 the DGHS has stated .The deceased was a female over 60 years of age it has been reported .

At the moment 3741 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system .

However only 1041 PCR tests and 1049 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (13).
