Entire Cabinet Except Prime Minister Had Resigned

 Entire Cabinet except Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe has decided to resigned with immediate effect  according to Government sources.

The Cabinet Ministers met at Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees " in Colombo hours ago had handed over their letters of resignation to Prime Minister Rajapakshe the Sources have added .The Prime Minister is scheduled to be discussed on this matter with President Gotabhya Rajapakshe  and take the final decision Minister of Education Dinesh Gunwardane has told the media .

Earlier rumors spread that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe has resigned from his post to allow President to form a caretaker government .However Prime Minister 's Media office had later  denied these rumors .The Cabinet has decided to resigned due to the public wrath  shown  against the government it has been revealed .

Beragala-Wellawaya Road Blocked Due To Huge Stones And Soil Mounds

 The Beragala-Wellawaya Road has been completely blocked from Galkanda area (Badulla District )this evening (02) due to the falling of huge stones and soil  mounds on the road as a result of the heavy showers prevailed in the area according to the authorities .

As the debris littered on the road is being cleared ,Motorists are being advised to use an alternative routes when travelling according to the Police .

Bako Machines are being used to clear debris on the road according to the officials of Haldummulla Provincial Secretariat . 

Lawyers Association Requested President To Cancel State Of Emergency Order

Sri Lanka Lawyers Association had requested the President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe to cancel the State Of Emergency Order issued by Yesterday (01) as it is not the  solution for the Current crisis in the country
.

There's a need to protect the fundamental rights of public like Freedom of expression and right to hold peaceful meetings at this stage   the Association has stated .

Thirty Six Hour Island Wide Curfew Has Been Imposed From This Evening (02)

 President Gotabhya Rajapakshe has today (02) imposed an Island Wide Curfew with effect from 6 p.m this evening  until 6 a.m  on Monday morning(04) under the powers vested with him through the provisions of Public Security Act The Government Information Department has announced .

During the curfew hours operation of  all Buses and Trains will be stopped   and public is being strictly prohibited from staying in Public Places the Department has stated ,
