A Massive Protest And A Rally Held In Colombo Against Rising Inflation And Commodity Prices

A massive Protest March and a Rally were organized by the main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya Party opposing the rising inflation rates ,rising prices of essential commodities ,Fertilizer shortage ,Power cuts ,shortage of Gas,fuel and other commodities, held in Colombo this evening (15) with the participation of massive Crowds.

The protesters wer surrounded the Presidential secretariet in Colombo fort and burnt effigies and banners by demanding the current government to go home .

Many who gathered on the roadside to view the protest had cheered and encouraged the protesters .

Due to the protest march and protest rally held this evening transport services in and around Colombo had come to a standstil.Security has tightened in and around Colombo due to this protest

428 Corona Positives Had Been reported Today

A total number of 428 Corona Positives Had been reported in the country today (15) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 656,814 according to Epidemiology Unit.

At the moment 21,328 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and home caee system.

Another 08 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (15)

Another 08 Corona Deaths had been reported in the country today (15) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,415 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 04 males and 04 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS had stated.Out of the deceased 06 were over 60 years of age and 02 were belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been revealed

Another Three Hour Long Island wide Power Cut For Tomorrow(15)

Due to the shortage of fuel to generate electricity , Island wide power cuts are scheduled to be implemented in 20 zones throughout the island according to Public Utilities Commission .

Accordingly 3 hours and 45 minute Power cut is scheduled to be implemented for 12 Zones ranging from A to L and 3 hour power cut is scheduled to be implemented in 08 zones known as P to W
