Late Nadungamuwe Raja Tusker Named As National Treasure

 President Gotabahya Rajapakshe had today (07) advised the Secretary to the Ministry OF Buddha sasana ,Religion and Cultural Affairs Professor Kapila Gunawardnae to take steps to name late Majestic Tusker "Nadungamuwe Raja " who had carried the sacred tooth relics of Lord Buddha most of the times in annual "Esala " Procession in Kandy as a "National Treasure ".

President had also advise to preserve the body of late Tusker who died at  the age of 69 in Weliweriya ,Gampaha District this morning after prolonged illness for the viewing of future generations  .

Power Cuts Approved For Tomorrow (08) As Well

 Although President Gotabaya Rajapakshe had advised the authorities not to implement an Island Wide Power Cut after 05th of March ,The Public utilities Commission had given permission to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to implement a seven and half hour long  Power cut for two zones during   tomorrow(08).

Accordingly seven and half hour Power cut will be implemented for E and F zones and another three hour Power cut will be implemented for the zones P,W,Q,R,S,T,U,V and W from 8 a.m in the morning to night .

Eight Corona Death Announced For Today (07) By DGHS

 The Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) has today (07) announced another 08 Corona deaths amidst the decision announced by him recently that performing PCR Tests for the deaths in hospitals are not compulsory any more .

Accordingly the total number of Corona deaths reported so far had risen to 16,339 DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 05 were males and 03 were females and 06 of the deceased were over 60 years of age and one each  from   30-60 year age group  and under 30 year age group .

662 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (07)

 Another 662 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (07) Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 650,802 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 16,201 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated ,

Only 4041 PCR tests and 1937 Rapid Antigen Tests had performed in the country yesterday (06).
