Director General Of Health Services Allowed The Public To Bury Corona Infected Bodies At Any Cemetery

 Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) Dr.Asela Gunawardane had yesterday (04) issued a new circular permitting the burial of Corona infected bodies at any Cemetery, by  cancelling the previous circular issued regarding burial of such bodies .


According to the new circular there's no need to perform PCR tests for  normal deaths and the Corona infected bodies can be handed over to the relatives of the deceased by covering the body with a special cover .

The relatives will not be allowed to keep the body inside a house or a funeral parlor and need to bury the body within 24 hour period after the death  at  their own expenses the DGHS has stated through the new circular .

639 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (05)- Only 4622 PCR Tests Performed Yesterday (04)

 A total number of 639 Corona Positives had been reported in the Country today (05) Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 649,632 according to Epidemiology Unit .


At the moment 23,489 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

Only 4622 "PCR " tests and 2824 "Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (04) according to health circles .

Another 14 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (05)- Corona Death Rate Stands At 2.51 Percent

 Another 14 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (05) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,321 according to Director General Of Health Services(DGSH) .


Accordingly out of the deceased the majority were over 60 years of age .

However Sri Lanka's Corona death rate is still stands at 2.51 percent .

A New Train Service From Kandy To Ella Area

 Sri Lanka Railways Department had inaugurated a new direct train service from Kandy to Ella area in Badulla (Central hills ) from today (04) In view of promoting Sri Lanka's Tourism Industry


.

Accordingly  this new train service will be departed  from Kandy Railway station daily from 7 a.m and reach Demodara Railwaya station at 2 p.m and will be departed from there again at 3.40 p.m and returned to Kandy Railway station around 9.35 p.m the Railways Department has announced .During the Journey this train will be stopped in several palaces to view mountains ,water falls and other attractive spots the department has stated .
