Ceylon Electricity Board To Discuss With Lanka Indian Oil Company Regarding Fuel Supply
As the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has decided to supply fuel for the Power stations belongs to Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Until tomorrow (18) ,authorities are planning to hold talks with Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) to get the required amount of Fuel sufficient for the Power stations up to 22 nd of January according to Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge .
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has last week decided to supply 1500 metric tones of Fuel daily for Ceylon Electricity Board until tomorrow .As the Electricity Board had a large amount of loan to pay for the Petroleum Corporation ,Authorities have decided to find an alternative ways of supplying fuel to Electricity Board Minister Lokuge has stated ,
Accordingly the chairman of Electricity Board is scheduled to discuss with officials of Lanka Indian Oil Company tomorrow in this regard it has been revealed ;
688 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (17)
Another 688 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (17) Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 597,035 according to Epidemiology Unit .
At the moment 13,444 Corona Positives are being treated at Quarantine Centers ,Hospitals and under home care system the Unit has stated .
Only 6997 PCR Tests and 3336 Rapid antigen tests had been performed in the country yesterday (16).
Seven Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (17)
Seven Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (17) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 15,218 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).
Accordingly 05 males and 02 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated , Out of the deceased 05 were over 60 years of age and 02 were belonged to the 30-60 year age group it has been revealed ,
