Six Female Estate Workers Injured And Hospitalized iToday (11

 Six female estate workers attached to Otari Tea estate in Hatton -Dikoya area had been hospitalized due to a wasp attack today (08) it has been revealed .The injured were admitted to Dikoya hospital 

The injured females had faced this incident whilst plucking tea leaves in the estate the sources stated .The wasp attack occurred   as a result of  edgework .                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

13 Corona Deaths Reported Today (07)

 Amidst the spreading of "Omicron " variant 13 Corona deaths had been reported by Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) today (08).

Accordingly 08 males and 05 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 11 were over 60 years of age and one each belonged to 30-60 age group and under 30 year age group it has been revealed .

Another 580 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (07)

 Again another 580 Corona positives had been reported today (08) by the Epidemiology Unit ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far in the country to 591,231 .

At the moment 9183 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .Only 8007 PCR Tests and 5872 Rapid Antigen Tests had performed in the country yesterday (07) it has been revealed .

A 16 hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Many Areas in Volimnbm

 A 16 hour long unnecessary water cut is scheduled to be implemented in 10  areas in Colombo District from 8 a.m to 12 in the midnight according to National Water supplies and Drainage Board .

Accordingly this long water cut will be implemented in Colombo ,Dehiwala ,mount Lavinia ,Kotte and Kaduwela Municipal Council areas as well as in Maharagama ,Boralesgamuwa and Kolonnawa  Urban Council areas ,Kotikawatte -Mulleriyawa Pradesheeya sabha area and in Rthamalana the Water Board has stated .,

This water cut is scheduled to be implements due to an essential repair work  of the Ambathale Water refinery it has been revealed .

A One Hour Power Cut Imposed In Many Areas Of the Country Today (07)

 Ceylon Electricity Board had today (07) announced an Island wide  one hour Power cut between 5,30 to 9.30 p.m due to the delay of supplying fuel to Sapugaskanda and Baththala Power stations .

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has agreed to supply the required 5000 metric tons of fuel to t the two power stations .A two hour power failure occurred in many areas of the island  including Colombo and suburbs  yesterday (06) due to a breakdown in Kelanithissa and Kukulegnaga Power plants .it has been reported.
