Authorities. To Lift Islandwide Travel Restrictions Although Daily Corona Cases Are Still Over 2000

 As no positive results had been achieved through the islandwide travel restrictions imposed by the authorities since 21st of May as a result of not implementing them strictly ,Government has decided to lift the restrictions on 4 a.m this Monday (21) for a period of two days it has been announced .

The restrictions will be re imposed again  from 10 p.m  this Wednesday (23) until 4 a.m next Friday (25) the head of the National Covid -19 Prevention Center General Shavendra De Silva has stated .

Gatherings including parties and functions will not be allowed to held during this period he has stressed .

2327 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (18)

 A total of 2327 Corona Positives had been reported yesterday !18) ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 235,413 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .

Out of the total number of Corona Positives reported yesterday (18)  majority which is 493 positives had been reported from Colombo District .41 of the Reported cases in Colombo district were from Dehiwala area .

There were 22 foreign arrivals amongst the Corona positives reported yesterday .

At the moment 35,729 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers it had been revealed .

Another 55 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Yesterday (18)

 Another 55 Corona deaths had been reported in the country yesterday (18) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 2480 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .

Accordingly 32. Males and 23 females had died due to the Covid pneumonia and complications occurred as a result of the non communicable diseases they have suffered from due to the Corona infection it has been revealed .

Few Persons Infected With Indian Corona Virus Variants "Delta "Had Found From Dematagoda Area-The Area Is Now U der Isolation -Municipal Council

 Although the researchers of Sri Jayawardanapura University had announced yesterday (17) that they have identified the Indian Corona virus variant "Delta "has been present at the samples taken from 05 persons in Colombo -09 (Dematagoda ) area ,Colombo Municipal council had isolated Dematagoda area since last Saturday (12) Authorities have revealed now .

However the decision taken to isolate Dematagoda area had not revealed to the public  until today and it has been reported that the presence of a suspected Corona cases  with different symptoms in Aramaya road , Dematagoda had been identified by the Epidemiologists recently .

However not informing the public on the  decision taken  to isolate Dematagoda area cannot be acceptable according to Health sources. .

2372 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (17)

 A total of 2372 Corona positives had been reported yesterday (17)  increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 233,064 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .

Accordingly. Out of the total number of  Corona positives reported yesterday ,562 were reported in Colombo district and 11 were foreign. Arrivals .

The majority of the Corona positives reported in Colombo district which is 95 positives had been reported from Awissawella area it had been revealed 

At the moment  35,256 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and Quarantine Treatment centers
