2716 Corona Positives had Been Reported Yesterday (09)

 A total of. 2716 Corona positives had been reported yesterday (09) in the country ,Increasing the total number  of Corona positives reported so far to 213,396 according to National Covid -19 prevention Center .

At the moment 31,126 Corona positives  are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine Centers .


Another 2637 Corona Positives had been reported on last Tuesday (08),

Pregnant Females To Receive Corona Vaccines From Tomorrow (09)


Vaccinating All pregnant females in Sri Lanka with Anti Corona vaccines will begin tomorrow(09) from Piliyandala MOH Area and Castle Street Hospital in Borella according to Collage of Gynecologists .

The Collage with the collaboration of Ministry of Health is planning to vaccinate 275,000 Pregnant females who are attending clinics islandwide according to the president of the Collage Dr Pradeep De Silva .

However he did not reveal the type of vaccine going to inject pregnant females in the country who are at higher risk of exposing to Corona virus .The only Anti Corona vaccine currently available in the country with sufficient stocks is Chinese Vaccine 'Sinopharm " ,However there' are no evidence available to show whether the vaccine is suitable for pregnant females according to Health sources .

However as 08 pregnant females have died during last month due to corona Infection the Collage of Gynecologists had forced the health authorities to vaccinate the pregnant females with any vaccine available in the country and the Ministry has given the approval for the proposal recently .

Central Bank Had Issued A Circular Allowing Banks To Function With Minimum Number

 The Central Bank Of Sri Lanka has  issued a circular allowing  all licensed  Commercial and special banks to open these days to maintain essential services during  the travel restrictions currently being imposed throughout the island .


Accordingly Commercial banks can be functioned by following travel restrictions currently being imposed and adhering anti Corona health guidelines to maintain special bank service the Central Bank has stated .Bank authorities can bring  15 employees to work in a Bank branch under present circumstances it has been stated .

Meanwhile 07 Private Banks namely Seylan ,Sampath ,Commercial ,DFCC,Amana ,Nations Trust and Uniion has decided to close all their Bank branches for normal bank services with effect from.07 th of  June until 13 th of June  due to the Current travel restrictions imposed to curb Corona spread ..
