Four Corona Deaths Reported Yesterday (09)

 Another 04 Corona deaths had been reported yesterday (09)in the island raising the total number of Corona deaths reported so farto 229 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .


Accordingly three males and a female resided in Mount  Lavinia  ,Katthankudy ,Wellampitiya and opemayake areas have died due to  Complications of the non Communicable diseases they have suffered with caused by Corona infection . The deceased were of the ages 74,64,76 and 58 years .

521 Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (09)

 Another 521 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals and treatment. Centers today (09)according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .


Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged after full recovery so far had risen to 40,838.

Several Areas In Giriulla And Pujapitiya Police Divisions Had Been Isolated

 Two Rural Development Areas (Grama Niladari Wasam)in Giriulla Police Division and selected areas at Koskote area in Pujapitiya Police Division at Kandy had been isolated with immediate effect according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center chief Army Commander General Shavendre De Silva .


Accordingly Mummana Rural Development officer area atand Weththawa Rural Development area in pannala  at Giriulla Police division and Selected areas at Koskote in Pujapitiya Police division had been isolated due to the surge of Corona cases .

University Grants Commission Has Been Closed Down After Identifying Corona Positive Employee

 The University Grants Commission (UGC)office at Ward Place in Colombo -07 has been temporarily closed down since last morning (08)after detecting one of the employees at the office as a Corona positive the Minister of Education Professor G.L Pieris has informed yo the parliament yesterday .


"PCR "tests are being conducted on  all employees at the UGC after the incident professor Pieris had stated .
