Three Minor Staff Members In Colombo National Hospital And Another In Eidgway Hospital Tested Positive For Corona Virus

 In a New Development, Three minor staff Members of Colombo National Hospital and a female minor staff member of Lady Ridgeway Children's hospital in Borella had been tested positive for Corona virus today (10) according to Health officials. 

Accordingly a female minor staff worker amd two male minor staff workers attached to Colombo National Hospital had been tested positive for Corona virus and as a result wards 2,3 and 69 as well as an operation Theater they have attached to had been shut down temporarily it has been revealed .All the staff members at these wards and opeeatuon Theater were performed "PCR " tests officials have stated .

The female minor staff member of the Rudgway Childrens Hospital who had tested positive for Corona virus is a resident of Polonnaruwa and residing temporarily in Borella it has been revealed.

Thirty Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesteday (09)

 A total of 30 Corona positives all were from.the Brandix Corona Cluster had been repoeted in the country yesterday (09) ,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country to 4523 according to Epidemeology Unit .


Accordingly All 30 Corona positives reported yesterday were Employees of the Brandix Apperal Factory at Minuwangoda and their contacts the unit has stated .

The  number of Corona positives belonging to the Brandix Corona cluster had been increased to 1083 .

At the moment 1214 Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals.

A Male Visited Recently Concluded Colombo International Book Fair Had Been Tested Positive For Corona Virus -Some Medical Peraonal Too Given Approval For The Fair Amidst Corona Threat

 A 36 year old male who had visited the recently concluded Colombo International Book Fair held at BMICH, Colombo amidst corona pandamic, had tested positive for Corona virus according to Health authorities. 


The Corona positive who is a resident of Chilaw had visited the Book fair which was held by violating health guidelines according to Health authorities, on 23 rd of September and after the visit he had visited Colombo Fort area as well it has been revealed. 

There after the positive had visited Nuwara Eliya area on 30 th of September according to reports.

Contact tracing regarding the Corona positive is currently underway it has been repprted .

Even one of the Doctors trade unions had seen requesting the public To Visit the Book Fair by washing hands and wearing masks during the fair .

The annual Colombo International Book Fair which was held from 18-27 of September in an unusual conditions violated the Health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry now the officials have stated. However they were the ones who gave permission to hold this event which draw huge crowd and advised the exhibition organisers to enter 300 visitors at once .

However no health officials had visited the fair and Inspect whether it was held according to Anti Corona health guidelines except Colombo Chief Medical Officers Dr.Ruwan wijemuni who had made a report and submitted to Acting Director General Of Health Services Dr.S.Sridharan saying the Book fair should be stopped else reduce the number of days it was held due to the poor behaviour of the crowd violating health guidelines .However authorities didn't take any action against it and the Book Publishers Association too told the fair will be conducted as scheduled but adapting health guidelines which were not seen during the fair according to Health officials .


Familes At 13 Houses In Dikoya Are Being Self Isolated After A Minuwangoda Brandix Apperal Worker Found Hiding At Her House In Dikoya

 A Female employee who is working at the Brandix Apperal Factory in Minuwangoda and not reported to Health authorities had been found by the authorities  yesterday  (09) whilst hiding at her house in puliyawatte ,DiKoya ,Hatton .


The female employee along with her parents ,husband and 10 year old daughter had been sent to Rantambe. Army quarantine center for  quarantine  it has been reported .

Due to this female employee and her husband 69 family members attached to 13 houses in the area are being directed to self isolation by the Public Health Inspectors in the area .

The suspected Female employee and her husband are being resided at a  Rented house in Minuwangoda it has been revealed. 


Two School Children Tested Negative For Corona Virus After Their Father Had Been Tested Positive For The Virus

 The school girl studying at Saint Bridget Convent in Colombo and her brother studying at SaInt Joseph School in Colombo whose father had been tested positive for Corona virus recently, had been tested negative for Corona virus during "PCR "tests performed on them .


The two school children were underwent the "PCR "tests affer identifying their father as Corona positive. 

Meanwhile the pregnant female at Castle Street Hospital in Borella who had been tested positive for Corona virus earlier has been identified as working at a Apperal factory related to Brandix Apperal group according to authorities.
